MEET THE HIRING MANAGER

What was your first job?

My first job was as a secretary/personal assistant to an architect back in my hometown of Basingstoke, U.K. I enjoyed many years there and learned a lot about business, building relationships with clients, and got to meet some very interesting people.

What’s a fun fact about you that you’d like to share?

I’m taking flying lessons. I started back in the U.K. with gliders – wow, the silence above land! — and now I’ve had lessons in a Cherokee Piper, which is a little noisier, but I love the thrill and bird’s-eye view.

What are your hobbies? What do you do in your spare time?

I read a lot. I love to go swimming (almost every evening) and listen to live music. I have seen some great bands over the years and love discovering new ones. I’m also taking a course to become a certified celebrant.

What does a typical day look like as a Business Development Manager at Origina?

No two days are the same in business development. We have a smart and passionate team that covers EMEA and APAC who engage with our prospects and create the right business opportunities both for the prospect and for Origina. I support my team in providing relevant training sessions, improving our craft, supporting their individual and team targets, and also supporting and coaching our team for their future roles at Origina.

What interview tips would you have for someone applying for a Business Development role with Origina?
