Origina Cares

Here are some of the ways Origina gave back throughout 2022.

We’re all about empowerment here at Origina.

Whether it’s encouraging our customers to take charge of their own IT roadmaps or motivating our employees to go above and beyond, we know that great things can happen if people are empowered to create their own destinies.

As we wrap up 2022, here are some of the ways Origina has tried to help those less fortunate, not just during the holidays, but throughout the year as well.

Mater Foundation 100 mile challenge logo

Origina took on the Mater Hospital 100 Miles in a Month Challenge and raised a whopping €8,678 largely due to our employees’ huge efforts, all of which benefited the hospital’s patients.

UNICEF Ukraine Appeal supply donations

We also donated €5,000 to UNICEF in support of its Ukraine appeal to support vulnerable people, along with significant donations of practical supplies, such as water, medical supplies, blankets, toys, and diapers.

Last year, our leadership team made a commitment to donate 2% of our 2022 net margin, which resulted in five organizations in Ireland and the U.S. receiving $5,000 or €5,000 a piece. They were Focus Ireland, Dublin Simon Community, Children’s Health Ireland (Temple Street), the Peter McVerry Trust, and the Salvation Army of North Texas.

BelongTo LGBTQ+ Youth Ireland logo

In recognition of Pride Month, Origina contributed €1,000 to our Dublin partner, BelongTo. Several of our employees also participated in the Dublin 5k Pride Run to raise money for LGBT charities.

Bohemian Football Club donation collection

Origina added a further €2,000 to the Bohemian Football Club’s call to help children in the direct provision (refugee) system in Ireland this Christmas.

Irish Youth Foundation

Our employees also donated one hour of their November wages to the Irish Youth Foundation. Origina matched those donations for a total of €3,300.

Irish Kidney Foundation knit hats

Two donations were made on behalf of our employees — to the Irish Kidney Foundation in memory of Frank Murphy’s sister and to Cardiac Risk in the Young in memory of Elizabeth O’Neill’s brother. Elizabeth and her family have kept the fundraising going through their Instagram page here.

Charlotte Community Foundation logo

When Hurricane Ian passed through Florida in the U.S. causing widespread damage, Gina Marquez volunteered with the Charlotte Community Foundation with Operation BBQ Relief, which served over 100,000 meals to people most affected and first responders. She also made a personal donation to the Charlotte Community Foundation that Origina matched.

This yuletide, our Dublin team participated in the “Merry Little Santa Drive” to help families in need buy presents for their kids, while members of our Plano, Texas, office took to the streets to ring bells for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive. The Virtual Red Kettle Drive continues to raise funds for those in need of food or shelter.

Our Origina team also donned holiday sweaters on Christmas Jumper Day to raise money for Children’s Health (Dallas) and Children’s Health Ireland (Temple Street). Origina CTO and Co-Founder Rowan O’Donoghue personally donated €2,000.00 to help the support sick children and their families at a time when they need it most.

Giving back is a large part of our company’s mission. We are looking forward to supporting these amazing organizations and perhaps a few more next year.
