  • Skills related to Computer & Comms rooms – fiber, cabling, power, connectivity etc…
  • Responsibility for Backup, Restore and Disaster Recovery strategies (Data Protector, VEEAM etc.)
  • Excellent capabilities in Enterprise environment systems ranging from group policy, PowerShell/dos scripting, SAN + NAS maintenance etc.
  • Responsibility for VMWare maintenance and day to day usage
  • Setup, Support and Configuration of Computer Infrastructure including:
    • Network (Cisco)
    • SAN Storage (EMC / HP)
    • Windows Servers
  • Excellent customer facing skills across all layers of IT management

Ability to multitask and manage several technical projects at the same time

Additional requirements:

  • Responsibility for large Infrastructure enterprise projects
  • Support of O365 user setup
  • Installation and Support of Software Applications
  • Liaise with vendors on technical projects, installations and error resolution
  • Security and proxy server experience
  • Experience working with Linux servers desirable
  • Previous experience working with IBM-i, AIX or HP-UX also desirable

 Experience:

  • Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, storage or backup professional certification
  • Relevant 3rd Level IT qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years experience in similar role
  • Project management experience or qualifications desirable

What we are looking for:

Origina is looking to appoint a focused, passionate and driven individual who has a flair for repairing or fixing electronic components and is looking for a challenge. We are looking to build on that knowledge and provide an environment where an individual can enhance and tune those skills further.

One of the services that Origina provides to its clients is hardware maintenance and support for core systems – These systems being primarily IBM server and storage infrastructure. We are seeking individuals to join our Support team, learn about the various products that we support and become the go-to person for providing assistance relating to hardware issues.

The successful candidate will be based within our Dublin office but will be required to provide onsite support to our Clients located across the island of Ireland. They will have the responsibility for assisting and ensuring all client hardware issues are resolved in a timely manner and ensuring associated SLAs are met.

Our ideal candidate for this role should be a self-motivator. He/she should be a people person and team player with a track record for providing quality customer support. Our preference will be for candidates who have consistently over-performed, who have demonstrated unique skills in previous roles, and who have a successful background in a technically challenging & ideally client facing role.

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

  • Provide world-class trouble shooting and technical support for core system IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure understanding of underlying IT infrastructure hardware & associated components and troubleshoot issues to identify cause.
  • Ensure necessary understanding of associated operating systems to provide end to end resolution of hardware issues. Including but not limited to: AIX, OS400, z/OS, Microsoft Windows, VMware, Hyper-V.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction when handling an incident – actively supporting the customer and keeping them up to date though-out an incident lifecycle.
  • Ensure that all service level agreements between Origina and their customers are adhered to when managing multiple incidents.
  • Keep an up-to-date inventory of hardware both under maintenance and replacement parts held onsite.
  • Ensure key components within clients IT hardware are identified and that Origina holds a replacement part.
  • Contribute to the growth of the support division. New ideas and forward thinking are always encouraged.
  • Actively learn and develop individual technical skills and abilities with the support of the senior technical team.
